Song: Sycamore Sign

Sycamore Sign (lyrics)

I walk to the woods dow the street

Tell you what I see

A big eye on a tree

And a wooden sign that reads

“You are not lost,

You are always here,

No matter what the cost

It’s not worth the fear.”

And I took that sign down

And I carried it around

To remind myself I’m here

And no matter what the cost

It’s not worth the fear.

So I walked a mile line

Holding tight to that sign

And I couldn’t believe my eyes

When it became feather light.

And then it disappeared

Into the unknown

And I turned to my past

To see if it went home.

And it was back on that tree

And that big eye winked at me

And that tree whispered “Dear”

“You don’t need a sign to know you’re here.”

So it’s going to stay

And I will part my way

From that ol’ Sycamore and that sign.

‘Cos it’s written on my heart

And I don’t need no words on wooden bark

To tell me I’m here, and okay.

And now I have no fear

Even though one day is one day nearer

To death, but its not.

‘Cos you’ll always be here

Even after the grave when you disappear

‘Cos were just little bodies with big souls.

And I think that’s what that sycamore wanted told.
