Parzival (lyrics)
There’s a story about a funny looking fool
He rides a scraggly horse and his name is Pazival
And his mother dressed him up looking like a clown
And then had sent him towards King Arthur’s Castle
King Arthur’s Castle
Looking like an asshole.
And he was too young to see thru the lies
So he trusted his mom with his style
‘Cos he wanted to be a knight
Like his father who had died in that fight
But she didn’t want it, no she didn’t want it, no she didn’t want it.
But when he pulled up to that rampart wall
The guard had a belly laugh and he couldn’t help but fall
He said “What are you? A jester in this court?”
He said “I’m no jester! I’m knight Parzival.”
Knight Parzival, knight Parzival.
‘Cos he was too young to see thru the lies
So he trusted his mom with his style
‘Cos he wanted to be a knight
Like his father who had died in that fight
But she didn’t want it, no she didn’t want it, no she didn’t want it.
So that guard had said “I’ll dual you right here
And if you win I will provide you with my gear.”
Parzival said “Fine! but I want your horse too.”
And that guard laughed again and said
“I am so amused. You can even have my shoes.”
And you’ll never believe what this kid did
The guard mounted his horse and charged at that kid
And that kid pulled off some miraculous trick
He sat his horse down and that guard did flip.
So Parzival won it, yea Parzival won it, yea Parzival won it.
So yes, that guard was a noble man
He gave up his horse and dressed Parzival in armor red
And this noble man, he drew down that bridge
And Parzival pranced heavily with his new helmet
And he was just a kid.
‘Cos he was too young to see thru the lies
But not too young to use his young mind
And he was on his way with delight
Just like his father who was a reputable knight.
So Parzival wants it
And destiny’s got it.
So King Arthur wants him.
